Almond Tea Bread

A step-by-step recipe for making Almond Tea Bread:

Ingredients:

For the Bread:

- 1 cup all-purpose flour

- 1 teaspoon baking powder

- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

- 1/4 teaspoon salt

- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

- 1 cup granulated sugar

- 2 large eggs

- 1 teaspoon almond extract

- 1/2 cup sour cream

- 1/2 cup sliced almonds

For the Glaze:

- 1/2 cup powdered sugar

- 1 tablespoon milk

- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract

Instructions:

1. Preheat the Oven:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan.

2. Mix Dry Ingredients:

In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

3. Cream Butter and Sugar:

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

4. Add Eggs and Almond Extract:

Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated. Stir in the almond extract.

5. Alternate Adding Dry Ingredients and Sour Cream:

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Alternate with adding the sour cream, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until the batter is smooth.

6. Add Sliced Almonds:

Gently fold in the sliced almonds into the batter.

7. Transfer to Loaf Pan:

Pour the batter into the greased and floured loaf pan, spreading it evenly.

8. Bake:

Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 45-55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the bread comes out clean.

9. Cool:

Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then remove it from the pan and place it on a wire rack to cool completely.

10. Prepare the Glaze:

In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and almond extract until you have a smooth glaze.

11. Glaze the Bread:

Once the bread has cooled, drizzle the glaze over the top. You can use a spoon or a piping bag to create a decorative pattern if desired.

12. Slice and Serve:

Allow the glaze to set for a few minutes, then slice the Almond Tea Bread and serve. Enjoy! This Almond Tea Bread is perfect for a cozy tea time or as a delightful treat for breakfast or brunch. The almond flavor and sliced almonds add a lovely nutty dimension to this sweet bread.
