Eggless Chocolate Mousse



A step-by-step guide to making eggless chocolate mousse:


Ingredients:

- 1 cup (175g) semisweet or dark chocolate chips

- 1/4 cup (60ml) hot water

- 2 teaspoons instant coffee or espresso powder (optional, for flavor)

- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- 1 1/2 cups (360ml) heavy whipping cream

- 1/4 cup (30g) powdered sugar (adjust to taste)

- Chocolate shavings or cocoa powder for garnish (optional)


Instructions:


1. Melt the Chocolate:

   a. Place the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl.

   b. In a separate microwave-safe container, heat the water until it's very hot but not boiling.

   c. Dissolve the instant coffee or espresso powder in the hot water (if using) and pour it over the chocolate chips.

   d. Stir until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth. You can also melt the chocolate using a double boiler on the stovetop if you prefer.


2. Add Vanilla Extract:

   Stir in the vanilla extract to the melted chocolate mixture. Set it aside to cool slightly.


3. Whip the Cream:

   a. In a separate mixing bowl, whip the heavy whipping cream using an electric mixer on medium-high speed.

   b. Gradually add the powdered sugar while whipping. Continue to whip until stiff peaks form. Be careful not to overwhip; you want the cream to be smooth and fluffy.


4. Combine the Chocolate and Cream:

   Gently fold the whipped cream into the melted chocolate mixture. Use a spatula and fold in a gentle, sweeping motion to combine the two until no streaks of whipped cream remain. Be careful not to deflate the whipped cream.


5. Chill the Mousse:

   Transfer the chocolate mousse into individual serving glasses or one large serving bowl. Cover with plastic wrap, ensuring it touches the surface of the mousse to prevent a skin from forming.


6. Refrigerate:

   Place the mousse in the refrigerator and let it chill for at least 2-3 hours, or until it's set. For best results, let it chill overnight.


7. Garnish and Serve:

   Before serving, you can garnish the chocolate mousse with chocolate shavings, cocoa powder, whipped cream, or your favorite toppings.


8. Enjoy:
