Roasted Peanut

Roasted peanuts make for a delicious and healthy snack. A simple step-by-step guide on how to roast peanuts at home:

Ingredients:

- Raw peanuts (as many as you want)

- Salt (optional)

- Cooking oil (optional)

Instructions:

1. Preheat the Oven:

   - Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Ensure it's fully preheated before roasting the peanuts.

2. Prepare the Peanuts:

   - Start with raw peanuts in their shells or without, depending on your preference.

   - If you have peanuts in their shells, you can leave them as they are or shell them, as per your preference. Shelling the peanuts will result in a slightly different flavor and texture compared to roasting them in their shells.

3. Rinse and Drain (Optional):

   - If your peanuts are dusty or have any debris, you can rinse them in cold water and then drain them thoroughly. Make sure they are completely dry before roasting.

4. Season (Optional):

   - You can choose to season your peanuts with a sprinkle of salt or any other desired seasoning. Toss the peanuts in a bowl with the seasoning to coat them evenly.

5. Arrange on a Baking Sheet:

   - Spread the peanuts in a single layer on a baking sheet. Make sure they are evenly distributed for even roasting.

6. Roast in the Oven:

   - Place the baking sheet with the peanuts in the preheated oven.

7. Roasting Time:

   - Roasting time can vary depending on the size and moisture content of the peanuts, but it generally takes about 15-20 minutes.

   - After the first 10 minutes, check the peanuts for doneness by taking one out and letting it cool for a minute. Then, crack it open. If it's roasted to your liking, you can remove the rest from the oven.

8. Stir Occasionally (Optional):

   - You can give the peanuts a gentle stir every 5-7 minutes to ensure even roasting. This step is optional, but it can help prevent uneven roasting.

9. Check for Doneness:

   - To check if the peanuts are done, crack open one or two and see if they have a uniform golden-brown color. They should also have a nice roasted aroma.

10. Cool and Store:

   - Once the peanuts are roasted to your satisfaction, remove them from the oven and let them cool completely on the baking sheet. They will continue to crisp up as they cool.

11. Serve or Store:

   - Serve your freshly roasted peanuts as a snack or use them in various recipes.

   - To store roasted peanuts, place them in an airtight container or a resealable bag once they have completely cooled. Store them in a cool, dry place. Roasted peanuts can stay fresh for several weeks when stored properly.

Enjoy your homemade roasted peanuts! They make for a tasty and nutritious snack.
