Banana Muffins

Banana muffins are a delightful treat that's perfect for breakfast or as a snack. A step-by-step guide on how to make banana muffins:

Ingredients:

- 2-3 ripe bananas (about 1 cup mashed)

- 1/3 cup melted butter or vegetable oil

- 3/4 cup granulated sugar

- 1 egg

- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

- 1 teaspoon baking soda

- 1 teaspoon baking powder

- 1/2 teaspoon salt

- Optional add-ins: chocolate chips, chopped nuts, or dried fruit

Instructions:

1. Preheat the Oven:

   - Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a muffin tin with paper liners.

2. Mash the Bananas:

   - In a mixing bowl, peel and mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth. You should have about 1 cup of mashed bananas.

3. Mix Wet Ingredients:

   - Add the melted butter or vegetable oil, granulated sugar, egg, and vanilla extract to the mashed bananas. Stir well until the ingredients are thoroughly combined.

4. Sift Dry Ingredients:

   - In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.

5. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:

   - Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and gently fold them together. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.

6. Add Optional Add-Ins:

   - If you'd like, fold in chocolate chips, chopped nuts, or dried fruit into the muffin batter for added flavor and texture.

7. Fill Muffin Cups:

   - Spoon the muffin batter into the prepared muffin tin, filling each cup about two-thirds full.

8. Bake:

   - Place the muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean. The baking time may vary slightly depending on your oven, so keep an eye on them.

9. Cool:

   - Allow the banana muffins to cool in the tin for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

10. Enjoy:

    - Once the muffins have cooled, they are ready to enjoy. Serve them as a snack or for breakfast with a cup of coffee or tea.
