Stir-Fried Broccoli with shrimps



Stir-Fried Broccoli with Shrimp:


Ingredients:


- 1 lb (450g) shrimp, peeled and deveined

- 4 cups broccoli florets

- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

- 2 cloves garlic, minced

- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

- 2 tablespoons soy sauce

- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar

- 1 teaspoon sesame oil

- 1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening the sauce)

- Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

- Cooked rice or noodles for serving


Instructions:


Step 1: Prepare the Shrimp

- Rinse the shrimp under cold running water and pat them dry with paper towels.

- If desired, you can season the shrimp with a pinch of salt and pepper for extra flavor.


Step 2: Stir-Fry the Shrimp

- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

- Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer and cook for 1-2 minutes on each side, until they turn pink and opaque. Be careful not to overcook the shrimp, as they can become rubbery.

- Once cooked, remove the shrimp from the skillet and set them aside on a plate.


Step 3: Prepare the Broccoli

- In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil.

- Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the skillet, and stir-fry for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.


Step 4: Stir-Fry the Broccoli

- Add the broccoli florets to the skillet, stirring constantly.

- Cook the broccoli for 3-4 minutes, or until it becomes bright green and tender-crisp. If needed, you can add a splash of water to the skillet to help steam the broccoli.


Step 5: Make the Sauce

- In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. If you prefer a thicker sauce, you can add 1 teaspoon of cornstarch to the sauce mixture and whisk until dissolved.


Step 6: Combine Shrimp, Broccoli, and Sauce

- Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet with the broccoli.

- Pour the prepared sauce over the shrimp and broccoli in the skillet.

- Stir everything together until well coated with the sauce and heated through.


Step 7: Garnish and Serve

- Transfer the stir-fried shrimp and broccoli to a serving dish.

- Garnish with sesame seeds for added flavor and presentation.

- Serve hot, alongside cooked rice or noodles as a main dish.
